ADP Founder Delivers Funding Letter to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales
Avoided Deforestation Partners founder Jeffrey Horowitz presented a letter from Senator Patrick Leahy of the Senate Appropriations Committee to Charles, Prince of Wales, announcing details of 2010 funding in support of REDD and biodiversity initiatives at St. James Palace, London. Avoided Deforestation Partners and allies had worked closely with Senator Leahy’s staff to obtain the letter committing $275 million for programs to protect biodiversity and support sustainable landscapes in fiscal year 2010. This appropriations request has bi-partisan support, and are for programs thru the department of state. The letter was read to an audience at the Prince’s gathering by U.S. Ambassador to the U.K., Louis Susman.
